It’s all business on LinkedIn

So, a priest, a rabbi and a monk walk into a barbecue joint in Amarillo….

Not a good start to your LinkedIn post for the day. Why? Because on LinkedIn, it’s all about business. So instead of telling jokes, show people what you can do by setting yourself up as an expert. Link to articles about social media or writing, or video, or photography….whatever you want potential employers to get about you. That’s what you should post about on LinkedIn.

Your challenge for this post–find an excellent article that you can link to and post it here, then post it to your LinkedIn. You’ll be glad you did.

  1. I have this REALLY cool app on my phone called Flipboard. You pick a topic(s) you are interested in and it puts all relevant web articles about that topic into folders for you. For example, I am interested in photography so it pulls up anything and everything related to that such as tips, new camera gear, info about famous photographers. Every time I open the app and browse through the articles I always find a lot of interesting things I didn’t know about before. So, for this assignment I chose this article to post on my Linkedin account!


    This is a great article on how to fix a “social-media-post-gone-wrong” type of situation. I feel it is important to show potential employers that we are educated and prepared to handle crisis situations. Employers want people who can act under pressure, not just someone who can post a feel-good status and go on about their day.
